In Area Enclosure games, players place or move pieces in order to surround as much area as possible with their pieces.
Area Enclosure
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

I enjoy this version more than standard Blokus. The straight two player means more opportunity to play and the small size makes it pretty portable.

I prefer the core area-control challenge of Blokus at two players far more than at 4. The original Blokus board is laughably under-sized for four players, and To-Go feels tight without being constricting. These sorts of abstracts are better at 2 (rather than 4) because any mistake by one player will open up unfair advantages and avenues for other competitors. At two players, you have only yourself to blame for giving your opponent an opening. Blokus To Go is that valuable abstract which plays in under thirty minutes. I think [thing=2655][/thing] might still be my favorite, but this one is underrated for sure.

Nice abstract that's fun and interesting to play. You can apply strategy without taking too long to plan your moves. Note that it's a great two player game, and should not be considered as a cheapened or dumbed-down variant of the 4-player game.
