This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

I would say that its decent, but it feels like there is no point to the employee cards, I can just save my coins and end up getting more victory points at the end of the game. I feel like the different rounds are kind of tedious.

Mike, Brian, Dave and I played a spirited game of this KS darling for our Friday night game-a-thon. Brian beat Dave in a tie breaker. This was super fun. A very simple drafting game at heart, BQ offers many interesting options every round. You need to figure out how early you want to pick the hero that comes to your store. To get a hero, you have to commit a card from your hand to your Display to draw them in. Then, you have to sell to your Hero and hope they can beat and survive the Monster. What I really like about this step is the Adventure card. This is a random card that can add or subtract Attack or Defense or give something else. You can't math this out to maximize your VP's. The variety is immense as well. With the other Kickstarter goodies, I will have many more plays of this in the near future. Highly recommended.
