Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

This was a nice surprise amidst a day of learning lots of new games. First, I love the detail that went into small changes to familiar well known paintings on the assortment of victory tiles. The card artwork is more basic, but very functional. The gameplay is fun, and the player interaction via potential scoring of paintings in other player's edge galleries keeps everyone on their toes. I enjoyed this one and would definitely play again.

Another solid game from J. Alex Kevern. This one is a funny little puzzley game that fits nicely into my collection as its not too light, not too heavy. That said, I can see some not liking the amount of luck of the draw that can happen. I have heard that the game might seem to have a correct answer, so it can feel that game is too constrictive. I didn’t get this feeling, but I did see a way to expand on the rules. Once you have given the game a go, I suggest tweaking how the visitors work a little. To make things a little more exciting we modify the rules to allow players to use visitors to skip to one beyond the adjacent gallery that you normally get. This power activates when you would score a visitor. Now you may instead of scoring, choose to trade them to go +1 gallery farther per visitor. So you can get the one point if you choose to go to the adjacent as usual, but now you can give up the point to reach an awesome gallery your neighbor has been building. November 2020 $20.49 Cardhaus

Did not enjoy this game. An abstract luck-based engine builder with poor thematic integration. Some interesting ideas but doesn’t feel like a fully developed product.
