In-game money is bet on different commodities in hope that that particular commodity will become the most valuable as the game progresses. Often the values of the commodities are continually changing throughout the game, and the players buy and sell the commodities to make money off of their investment.
Commodity Speculation
Variable Phase Order implies that turns may not be played the same way as before and/or after.
Variable Phase Order
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Feels dated with really fiddly rules. Making rule mistakes while playing is guaranteed and there are no player aids. Also feels like it takes one round too long. Overall i think there are far more accessible and shorter games that scratch the same itch.

Very complex game but appealing (good word in the context of the game). I like the economic system (pricesetting) and the whole idea of actions.

While the game is fun, the downtime is terrible, and it does get repetitive quickly. I think the game lacked streamlining, as a 3-round, 3-resource game would have been less than half the length, without losing much depth, than the 5-round, 4-resource one we have right now. In addition to the downtime, this game is hurt by three things: the amount of choices available at all times is too much. which leads to AP; the calculations are complex and constant (and that's coming from someone whose #1 and 3 games are Power Grid and Russian Railroads, respectively), which is not particularly fun; and the risks you have to take are far too great for a game this length, and sometimes you just have to take them.
