Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Adds a lot of replayability and a lot of different strategies, still having this "overwatch" feel to it!

Disclaimer: Beta tester This is a fairly average expansion that adds a couple new elements and statuses to the base game. No real complaints, nor praises to say. Pros: -More content for the base game -New Smoke status adds unique and interesting interactions Cons: -Still has the multi language cards that bloat cost -Tao Wu is very weak and can be crippled easily (this was an issue in beta imo that was never fixed) -Father Mendoza feels like he got the short end of the stick on the both sides, Hes a sub-par support and his damage output requires very short range that hes not exactly built for. (though he does have his uses depending on the scenario played)

Absolutely brilliant arena skirmish game of just the right complexity and length. Endlessly replayable with tons of different scenarios and a fascinating cast of diverse characters. Luck can be a strong and sometimes decisive factor... but the skill cap is definitely very high in this game. The only bit that rubs me the wrong way is the card-play system. It is just a bit too hard to factor in all the information about what your opponent's characters can do if you have to remember all the possible cards your opponent can play in addition to the skills of the characters itself. Unless you play this A LOT, some rote memorisation is definitely necessary for good play.
