Players place tiles in 8 columns and a number of rows equal to the number of players. The tiles represent buildings, each with their own ability and VP. The tiles have 4 VP values. When a tile is placed to the right of a tile already on the grid, and its value is larger than the one on the grid, the latter is turned in the direction of a lower VP value. If the value is twice as large or more, then the tile on the grid is destroyed, opening up a new building place. If the newly layed tile has a smaller value than the one on the grid, the latter is turned in the direction of a higher VP value. Some of the tiles have variable values depending on the column in which they are placed or on the tile to their left. The game looks deceivingly simple, but due to all the different abiiities of the different buildings the placement of the tiles is really a tense battle. Almost any theme could be glued onto this game mechanic. In this game you are supposed to build a city, but it's really all about the tile abilities, and while playing you couldn't care less about the fact whether you are building a school or a mansion or whatever.

You have a lot of options with all rotating and things going on in this game. The score is a little cumbersome to calculate but it's visible so to play this really optimal you need to calculate a lot.

Creating a city in three rows by laying tiles and resolving the effects on the cards. Simple rules but restricted gameplay. Combine this with a dose of luck and sometimes crippling take-that effects and the end result leaves a bad taste. Not that fun at all. I'll pass the next time someone asks to play this one. (Played once on a game fair with three players)
