Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

It's fantastic design and stands unique among not just the games I have but I'm aware about. It takes a few games to get the rules right and a few nuances you probably have to cover on your own, but it worth it. With not even that many cards and effects the game provides very large decision space. And surprises. On both sides: when you think the opponent can't do something till you next moves, he might just find a way. Also on your turn you may think not really bright situation, then find a different combination for a huge difference. Just 4 tribes and 3 hero in each, still massive variability on how it turns out. The most important nuance for me in such games that kinda every move is powerful. It's always hard choice. The game can be pretty long and is exhausting due to all the thinking. It's not really a negative, just saying. KS late pledge, arrived on 2021/06/24

It's really strange, and my girlfriend absolutely hated it. I personally think there's something there, and need to try it again with someone else. The rulebook is needlesly convoluted and could be much shorter: The game isn't actually that complicated if you have someone with solid knowledge teaching it. EDIT: It's a bit crap. Field phase just doesn't work at all and it can become a big stalemate. I paid 8€ and it probably was worth that
