Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Deduction
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Mind blowing. Incredibly steep learning curve, requires heavy deduction (some people will not be able to handle it!) Artwork is fantastic. Player screens are the most amazing player screens ever. The game does an amazing job of capturing the theme. It should be stressed that the learning curve is very harsh, and your first game is very much just a learning experience, and you need to give a thorough tutorial on how the alchemy laws work before playing.

Fun deduction game, rulebook is a bit crappy. They need to do a tutorial online. Great game though!

Would be higher, but there is something I really dislike about how selling potions works. Getting beat out and not being able to sell a potion when you want to feels bad to me and this seems to happen a lot in two player games. The game is also quite the heavy game. It is basically two entirely different games to teach. The deduction portion of the game can take a lot to teach for people not used to deduction games, and then the worker placement part of the game is quite involved as well, and does not follow standard worker placement 'norms' for how they resolve and where the 'workers' go. Oh, then the publishing and debunking which almost feels like a THIRD game to teach. Once the rules are done and around turn 3 or 4 when everyone understands what is going on, the it is GREAT FUN! Game 2 with new players is WONDERFUL, but getting through game 1 is a huge hurdle, especially as our gaming nights usually involve alcohol, heh.
