Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection

I recognize the quality of this design, but in making 7 Wonders deeper and thinkier than the previous expansions did, this one also takes away most of what makes 7 Wonders so charming for me-- the quick, breezy play. Might be fun with very experienced and decisive 7 Wonders players. Not for me. Sold.

The tracks and the interaction with the base game really elevates the weight of base 7 Wonders. So good!

Excellent expansion. Adds a very powerful twist to the gameplay. Its also thematically awesome, it feels great to move your ships as you acquire new cards. Unless there are newbies at the table (which is very often the case, 7 wonders is my go to with high player counts), I wouldn't play 7 wonders without this expansion. One thing to note is that the shipyard boards about double the table space you need for this game *per player*. Also, in the middle of the table, you need to add more decks (island cards), tokens, there are more cheat sheets to pass around. BEWARE! The first and the second edition have different card backs. Also, I recall some obscure rule being a bit different. No second edition expansions came out in hungarian, which is fine, since the game is language independent, but stores often bundle together the second edition base game and first edition expansions, which is bad.
