Not at all impressed by the production quality of 7WD: Agora. The cubes in particular are really bad. The expansion itself seems a bit convoluted, but I'll give it a shot. Incl. the [thing=348601]Tu Quoque Fili[/thing] promo card.

Let me get an historical gripe off my chest. Agora is an ancient Greek word, referring to an open space used for assemblies and markets. 7 Wonders Duel: Agora gives us senators - first seen in Rome - and a chamber. How difficult would it have been to come up with a title that fitted the contents of the box? Those senators do at least seem characteristically Roman, with about half solid tribunes of the people and half conspiring to stab an opponent in the back. Agora offers a new route to an immediate victory, by controlling all six chambers of the senate. On early acquaintance, I'd say that's on a similar level of diffculty as the military and science wins. Control of each chamber also offers an in-game benefit... that is eaily overlooked when it is nowhere near your tableau. The other major new element is a deck of conspiracy cards. Taking a conspirator allows you to draw two of those cards and choose one. They can do quite significant damage to your opponent, but do require preparation by placing an Age card underneath. All of this gives the players more to think about and adds greater tension to the selection of Age cards. I don't think I will ever again play Duel without either this or Pantheon, though I imagine that both expansions together would feel like a little too much of a good thing. Production-wise, my one complaint is with the metallic coating on the influence cubes, which was showing signs of wear straight out of the box. The artwork is decent and the English rules are fine.

The new expansion adds a nice touch to the already great experience of 7WD. My wife enjoys it even more than the Pantheon expansion. I think that some of the senate bonuses are a bit too powerful and lead to a high inflation of the in game currency. We had games where there was literally no more money in the bank. This means that you can basically buy any card you encounter, which takes a bit away from the fun.
