Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Variable Phase Order implies that turns may not be played the same way as before and/or after.
Variable Phase Order
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Solid engine builder that has a good dose of both positive and negative interaction. Just try to play with people that keep the game moving quickly, as there is potential for the game to get bogged down by slow players. The base deck's cards are a bit too basic; their resource conversion is too pathed out along the dimensions of the basic resource types. Adding in one of the two included expansions is needed from the very first game, so there's a bit of flexibility/entanglement in the cards. My current feeling is I like New Era a bit more than the Winter expansion. Overall, 51st State is a bit odd in how it feels both too small and too big for its experience. For example, the game feels straightforward in the resource conversion, but also feels fairly complex in the need to plan out your action sequences while also keeping an eye on your opponents' tableaux (e.g., for razing opportunities, open production, etc.) and/or reacting to disruption from your opponents. The game lasts only 4 rounds, but some of the turn sequences in a single round can be lengthy. Individual turns feel quite incremental, but the game does go through its power arc at a pretty good pace with respect to the raw number of turns you actually take. Each card often relates to a single resource type, but also has multiple uses that each needs to be weighed. The engine building is largely about fueling simple resource-to-victory point converters, but the card play has many wrinkles to flex efficiencies (e.g., develop; razing). The blind draws are often more important than the drafting, but the volume of cards provide enough pivot points. There is the central game play aspects of resource conversion and a victory point race end condition, but it is also given a very loud post-apocalyptic setting. Is there even a best player count for this game? At 2P, many of the incentives for certain interaction are diminished. As you increase to 3P and 4P, the game's pace slows considerably and you increase the volume of information that needs to be tracked on the player tableaux. But the number of actions that actually affect an opponent's tableau are still fairly sporadic, despite the effort put forth.

"51. Stan: Master Set" to ciekawa pozycja dająca wiele możliwości podczas rozgrywek. Każda frakcja jest odmienna i sprawia, że musimy wykazać się inną strategią aby odnieść zwycięstwo. Ciekawe i staranne ilustracje dodają dodatkowego klimatu całości. Stan i życzę emocjonujących rozgrywek w świecie brudu, krwi i rdzy. Gorąco polecam.
