At the beginning of each round of When I Dream one player takes the role of the Dreamer and “falls asleep”, wearing a cloth mask. The other players are secretly dealt their role cards determining what kind of spirits they are “good” or “naughty” or if they are just “tricksters” changing sides as the game goes by.

I love the twist of the traitorous clue-giver, but I found that the luck of drawing a traitor card while a bad guesser went was so swingy that it ended up determining the winner most of the time. I guess you could argue "it's a party game, it doesn't matter", but given that the whole twist the game relies on is scoring-based, it kind of does matter...

An interesting filler which is fun in small doses. The social deduction element of working out who is lying to the dreamer makes an unusual combination with the memory game.

Inventive, quirky party game that takes Werewolf's "act based on your role" idea and turns it on its head. Good clues, bad clues, and in between- who are you and which kind of clue should you give? Quickly adjusting to your role is fun (it changes each round!). Being the blindfolded dreamer and determining everyone's intentions is fun. Dream-telling aspect adds goofy improv to the formula, which is fun. Just fun, fun fun.
