Dia De Los Muertos is an easy, fun trick-taking card game for 3-6 players which lasts 10-15 minutes. Beautiful, illustrated original art pieces that are visually stunning and reflect the Mexican Holiday – Dia Los Muertos. Non-linguistic, numeric & symbol based, with rules in English & Spanish!
Basic Game:
The game plays in one trick, with the led card determining whether high or low card leads to the next trick. High card takes all cards (which are marked for positive AND negative points). Cards are labeled with suit, rank (1-20), an High/Low indicator, and the points it is worth at the end of the game.
Advanced Game: The High/Low indicator on the card also determines whether the card is collected at the end of the trick by the highest or lowest card played in the trick. So there are two winners (or losers in the case of a pile of negative cards) in each trick.

[Jolly Roger Games tuck-box 2016 edition]{Mexica; trick-taking; optimal 6p} Dia de los Muertos is a light and short trick-taking game. There are 3 suits of 1-20 cards. It's a little bit chaotic because the High/Low rule changes each trick. The twist here is there is no trump suit and either the highest or the lowest card wins a trick. In addition, there is a function card "Take" to change the number of tricks of a hand. This game will be good for me with 6 players because all cards are used and I can do card counting. The card illustration is unique and wonderful. The 20 cards of each suit just look stunning. I love it. If all 60 cards are unique, that would be awesome. In addition, I particularly like the short history of the festival in the rulebook. It’s informative and brings out the theme. [Variants] Advanced Game: it looks fun. "Locking" the lead card: I am not sure about this variant.

Name a different trick taking game, I'd probably rather play it. Cool theme and art work (sure the theme is just pasted on) but I didn't not enjoy this one.

Bought to play at Halloween cos I love the art work, now working out how to fumble through it as a 2 player. We play as Whist and it worked fine. Ignored the 'take' action but use the higher/lower.
