Fun but there's this uncomfortable, dry side to it: too many games are resolved by doing the math and deciding whether to call out a person... the problem being the math always confirms your chance of winning/losing at about 50-50. Which is suspiciously close to one other activity... flipping a coin.

Coup is easily my favorite social deduction game. It's quick to learn/teach and very quick to play. There is not a single low moment in the game though. Every action is important and gives you information, or gives you the opportunity to manipulate - even something as simple as taking income. The game gets to the point turn 1 and has people guessing and invested in the final result until the last turn. Even in games where I have been eliminated early, it has been so much fun to just watch people lie their way to victory. I have played this game so many times that it has lost its charm a bit for me, and hence dropped in the ratings. (Plays: 30+)

I could play Coup over and over and over again. Even after dozens of plays, it never really gets old. The potential to lie and call others on their lies keeps this ever fresh, especially with new groups of people.
