My Father’s Work (Kickstarter – New Generation Pledge)
120m - 120m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 14+
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Solid worker placement, dripping with theme. The only drawback is the long-winded text breaks... hopefully this can be addressed and streamlined for future use.

Backed on KS cos it looked so beautiful. Only giving it a 5 because it's only half a game. The other half is a book and a very tiresome one at that. I waited and waited for an abridged version but it's never gonna happen so sold it :(

Story and game mechanisms compete for my attention and as a result, I like neither. Worker placement actually is good (the creepiness/mob and insanity mechanisms are really good) but it is not very deep. The story is interesting, but it breaks the cadence of the game and becomes an annoyance (at the third generation I stopped to read the story because I wanted to play the game). Which is a shame. I would gladly read the script of the game as a short story (with added personal details). Or rather played a solo video game with this theme.
