Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances
Partnerships
Player elimination occurs in multiple-player games (>2) when a player can be eliminated from the game and play continues without the eliminated player.

Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement

The board changes a lot from turn to turn. You can set up something amazing that pressures the enemy banner and two of their units at the same time, only for a single thing your opponent plays on their turn to completely invalidate it. It's not like you can plan for it either, because you are heavily reliant on what you draw. The game feels like a crap shoot that comes down too much onto luck of the draw. The upside is it is short, but not without being a bit fiddly. I haven't found it satisfying at all.

Un très bon jeu. 4 peuples vraiment typés et équilibrés. Testé à 3 et 2 joueurs. Petite préférence à deux car plus pointu mais agréable à 3. A voir à 4. Matos super mais jeu un peu cher par rapport au contenu. Une très bonne surprise avec une forte rejouabilité.

IMO better then Hex by a lot. Can't see playing another game when I could play this instead. Can't wait to see more xpacs for this.
