Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Have played this prototype at several stages of its development. It has been the only game of our local prototype conventions that I have ever rated a perfect 5 out of 5. It packs a decent punch for a game of its size. I really like the way that the zoo/amusement park theme comes through at such a price point. The habitats blending colors was an excellent design choice and highly thematic. I will wait to see the variety level of tiles in the end but there are plenty of goal combinations currently. It is slightly odd that it feels like you should enclose all of your habitats but in this game it can hurt you. The round order and how animals come out is also slightly different and will take a little bit of time to get used to but currently these are minor concerns.

In this tile placement game you are trying to build the best zoo, while taking care of the animal needs. For example, big animals need 2 watering holes, while the small animals only need 1. Also, not all animals can be placed together, so you have to be careful when picking up animals ? you have to be able to place them right away in the correct spot ? Official solo mode

Much more difficult than you might think looking at the components. Best at 2. This game challenges you to balance several scoring penalties and bonuses. Often some goals have to be abandoned. Zoo-graphy makes me say cuss words and then laugh.
