This is a filler level dice combat game. It lacks enough available scenarios to warrant more than a couple replays. The final battle is weird and fails to deliver a thrilling capstone for the game. Fans of the show will probably dig this. But it's difficult to recommend the game outside that core audience.
Bought a copy for a friend that is obsessed with the anime for Christmas this year. We played it and it was (surprisingly) a lot better than I expected. Analyzing dice and playing the odds as best we could, and we ended up winning on our first play-through.
Some replay value in having alternate scenarios to play through and it was easy enough to learn and play as a party game. I'd play it again.
Crystal screaming "SWITCH" every time we successfully used all the dice was also a highlight.
I liked the first few games. But in order for this to have longevity, I'm going to need some expansions. It is quick and easy to learn and teach. It offers participation during turns so not everyone is sitting around waiting for their turn.
