Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Uno with twists and pirate animals. I can see why people wouldn't like it with more players, but I vastly prefer this to Uno in a two-player only setting. I think it's a nice two player game in a less serious setting.

A good silly filler with a piratey theme. Like FLUXX, some games can get mind-numbingly long if the wrong combination of cards is in play, or there are too many conditions to keep straight. Still fun though, as long as it stays brief.

I don't mind silly and random, but we played with 5, and got absolutely no where near ending the game, and aborted in the middle of the third hand. "After playing a monkey, everyone pass your hand to the left." OMG. We laughed and laughed.
