Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Edited after a few plays Solid solo experience! Comparable to Sprawlopolis, but more than different enough to warrant owning both. This one definitely has a more puzzly feel. The only downside I could find is I just didn’t find the recipe cards that interesting by comparison to Sprawlopolis or similar games. On the other hand, Sprawlopolis has a lot of overlap and conflict of interest in it’s goal cards and these felt more focused, even if they were less interesting, likely leading to a better experience overall. The goals either weren’t enticing enough or didn’t change things up enough. Still nice to have, and they more than get the job done. Excited to get and play irl, as tts is suboptimal and I’d prefer to play with the specialized dice. Update: Played IRL, much easier than TTS and less AP. I went from liking this a bit less than Sprawlopolis to liking it a bit more I think. Both are a bit more luck based than I’d prefer, but in both cases, perhaps moreso here, the actual game play more than makes up for it.

This is a very fun, very quick spatial puzzle game with an enjoyable theme. The gameplay is a little fiddly what with updating the dice markers on cards as you overlay other cards, but the game is so short that it leaves the table before it can become too grating. Excellent filler game.

Fun little card superimposition puzzle. Takes up relatively little space, allowing it to be played pretty much anywhere!
