Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

The Harbor expansion is great, but beware the Millionaire's Row construction mechanic. It adds a lot of PVP and makes the game take so much longer.

I really hate these expansions. Playing with the recommended variable setup kills all synergy between the cards. Some of the cards might be okay if added intelligently and intentionally into the mix, but I don't see any setup like that recommended. Just makes a normally good, streamlined game clunky, long, and blargh.

So here's the problem: Machi Koro is more fun as the base game without these expansions. And Machi Koro 2 is even better than the base game.
