Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Underwhelmed. Really Weak story. Not many viable strategies. A couple added mechanics were fun. Better to just play a bunch of games of base machi koro with expansions. Or better yet, space base.
Clive Staples
Unfortunately did not live up to its full potential. Some of the added mechanisms I actually liked, such as the figure that moves around the cards and blocks some from being chosen. Others I found very confusing, and I may have just not paid enough attention to the rules, but sometimes I found myself confused on what was allowed/encouraged and what was not. A more tangible downside was how the cards were not chunked out into the actual chapters. You would have to wait and stumble upon a card that said wait, don't proceed yet! It felt really unnatural and made me second-guess where exactly one chapter ended and another began. Just a few too many bells and whistles going on with some questionable usability choices.

It started of as better than Machi Koro, and it probably still is, but not by much; the later games seem to slow down, and the luck of the dice can be pretty huge and swingy, and some of the game mechanics mean that you can often see who is going to win and that means that the other players will then prepare for the next game in terms of some of the choices they do, but that then means that the winning player can also focus on that and then stall the game... Don't need to finish the campaign, too long and boring.
