In-game money is bet on different commodities in hope that that particular commodity will become the most valuable as the game progresses. Often the values of the commodities are continually changing throughout the game, and the players buy and sell the commodities to make money off of their investment.
Commodity Speculation
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Armadillo Al
I played a four-player game of this and won in four turns. I had perfect draws and claimed a high-dollar patent every turn, which got me enough 'dividends' that I was able to continue chaining them. This felt amazingly broken to me. Ten cards is one or two too many for balance; it makes it too easy for players with good vocabularies to outplay others, with no good catchup mechanisms to bring them back down.

Finding words from a scramble of letters is inherently fun. That being said I’m not 100% sure the mechanics of this game actually work as a game?

Nice thinking game but due to the luck of the draw and no previous established combinatio s to build on, possibly a little too reliant on chance. Nice addition with the patents that allow you to earn from the cards played by your opponents.
