Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Simple gameplay, but it does what it sets out to do quite well. They could have included multiple dice, resulting in a bell curve distribution of die roll results (much like a Machi Koro). But they didn't do that here. It's like the designer embraced the lighter aspect and leaned into the luck as opposed to the odds. If you build a killer stall in spot 7, but never roll a 7, you're out of luck. Unless of course you have a menu to allow for the flexibility to "fix" the roll you don't want. However, unless you're playing with German cuisine, there's no way to replenish the menus you use. We have found that a core set of Thailand, Germany, France, Mexico, and Brazil makes for a great base set. Kind of wish the rulebook made recommendations for sets as it relates to gameplay (e.g. "want a fast game with lots of money in the economy? play with these countries, etc). Oh, also note the clarification that the dotted vertical line acts as an "AND" in the card powers, not an "OR". All told, it's an easy to reach game. The box is a bit big for what it is, but the stall boards kind of dictate that requirement. Otherwise, I'd probably tap this as a candidate for deboxing. Keeping in the collection for now as a easier breezier affair that anyone can get into.

This is a nice, light game along the lines of Machi Koro in terms of basic play flow. It plays pretty quickly and has decent replayability since you only use half the cards for any given game.

I guess I wanted a little more out of this, so I'm a little disappointed, but I also didn't hate it. It's similar to Space Base in rolling the die and collecting rewards, but it was weird that the spots all have the same odds of being triggered, so it's not like you could plan for bigger moves knowing something might be more likely to come out. It's very light,so it's a good option for families.
