Nearly like the original Carcassonne but adding a race game down the river. + Pretty, colorful + Simple to play and teach + Quick playing time + Family friendly # River gives the board a direction to grow # Instead of placing tiles, you can move your boat (or place a special tile with a boat which grants a free boat move)

Not as good as regular Carcassonne + expansions. Definitely less mean, though. Great with kids or people who don't like the cut-throat nature of Carcassonne.

I enjoyed the "race" element in this game, although it did seem to be pointless at the end (2 player game) where we both were as far as we could be and could no longer progress. Perhaps with more players this wouldn't be an issue. Good twist on Carcassonne original.
