Games using the line drawing mechanic involve the drawing of lines in one way or another. Lines may be used to connect objects as in Sprouts, to isolate objects, or to create areas as in the classic Dots and Dashes, also known as Square-it.
Line Drawing
Some board games incorporate elements of role playing. It can be that players control a character that improves over time. It can also be a game that encourages or inspires storytelling.

Amazing game! If you can get 8 people together, playing this in real time is some of the most tense fun you will have. A very different gaming experience.

Impossible to get to the table because of shabbos. But if I can and if it's the right group and we have time for a turn-by-turn tutorial before switching to real time... then it's fun.

3 plays / 7,8 players LIKE: It is a unique team-based competitive game that plays like the old "Battleship" games. Quite thematic. Both the turn-based and real-time variants were interesting. Charting the enemy sub was quite clever using the plastic overlay. DISLIKE: The real-time game led to many navigation errors that caused some frustration for opposite teams. Best at high player counts, which can be difficult to corral players. Uses lots of table space. OVERALL: I liked it better than I originally thought, but I am not sure this game has longevity because the engineer's and first mate's jobs seems mundane, perhaps more boards for them would open the game up more. I could see this working with 6 people, but no less.
