Co-operative play encourages or requires players to work together to beat the game.
Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Some board games incorporate elements of role playing. It can be that players control a character that improves over time. It can also be a game that encourages or inspires storytelling.

Fantasy card game but more of a solo RPG. Missed the kickstarter so I´ll have to wait for release and see if there is a chance to get hold of it.

I wanted to enjoy this more than I did. This is a good quick campaign game. I enjoy seeing how my characters progress as they gain talents, and I like the risk reward structure about spending time, or choosing tests that may be harder but have better payoffs. But I think the game is trying to do to much. Between character status tokens, room statuses, lighting, alert/readiness and various modifiers, the game becomes very fiddly. Also because of this, many talents have very niche uses because they depend on items such as the above. Overall I enjoy the game, but would love it more if it was more focused on doing a few things really well.

Everything is a skill-test. Lots of dice rolls which are effected by many many modifiers (equipment, hero skills, alertness, darkness, enemy awareness, etc). I don't mean to suggest its a luck fest, because although there are always dice, success is a sliding scale and the players have choices around how to approach each test. But all the tests play out the same way - roll, modify, consult card for result. There are some clever things in the game and its clearly a labor of love, but I just didn't have any fun playing it. I think its a good game, but not a good game for me.
