Ancient secrets, sandblasted ruins, and unprecedented horrors await in Under the Pyramids! This side board expansion opens up six new locations throught Egypt, including bustling Cairo, ancient Tel El-Amarna, and the shining, snaking, Nile River.

Great AOs, and I like the sideboard, cards etc. Impair never feels great. It is a Lovecraft game, so ideally it ends in an agonising loss, which impair can help with, but it’s too easy to off a badly impaired investigator and bring 8n a new one, which doesn’t resonate even if it lowers chances of success.

Be preparred for a game oozing with theme! What I really like is the accessability of the side board. Comparred with the Arctic side board, the pyramid side board is very easy to go to and from. The ancient ones are pretty cool as well. Nephren-Ka makes a lot of atmosphere and Abhoth is very different with the cultist encounter cards. Furthermore the investigators of this expansions are to die for! Some of the best yet! Note one thing, though: This expansion does NOT include the focus tokens. "Instead" you get impairment tokens, a sort of negative improvement tokens that downgrade your skills giving you fever dice to roll. You usually get these from failing tests. These can really be a pain in the neck, though they make thematic sense. I will recommend this over Mountains of Madness as the side board is a lot easier to travel to and from. It makes it more fun. Great expansion! So far I will recommend the big box expansions in the following order: The Dreamlands Under the Pyramids Mountains of Madness

I don't like the new Impairment tokens mechanic and for this it would be an 8, but for the setting of ancient Egypt I give it a +1... For the rest, great game like the whole Eldritch Horror cycle!!!
